Hello everyone and welcome to my website! Let me introduce myself. I’m Bernhard, a 40 years old web application developer and Co Founder of a small ERP company. In my „first life“, I worked as a lathe operator and technician. I studied mechanical engineering at University of applied science, Ingolstadt and Nuremberg (Germany). I also studied abroad for a semester at QUT Brisbane.

My fellow student Felix and me founded our ERP company in 2015 (with the intention to have a web shop for mechanical parts, not to write an ERP system). We teached we b development ourself. Had no „real“ job training or studies in this field.
I (as a totally non average web developer) sleep about 8.5 hours a day, don’t have a tower of pizza boxes on my desk and spend – to be honest – up to 14 hrs a day on my desktop. While hacking my own systems, I don’t wear a ski mask. Sorry for that!
What is good code to me? In the first step, it doesn’t matter if it is function or object orientated. It doesn’t matter if it follows design patterns in the first step. Code needs to be functional and readable. It needs to be clear and needs to follow a concept. It should not have a too deep function nesting. Code blocks should be unique and code should be able to explain itself without comments (which does not mean that there are no comments at all). Everything else depends on the size and kind of project.
My passion in life? Software development, standard and latin dances, classical music, traveling and good coffee.
